Environmentally Friendly Furniture - Country of Origin

We want to help customers make the best choices in terms of sustainability & environmental impact.

A core element of the Kirkhouse ethos, is to provide furniture that will last a long time in tough environments.  We are very happy to discuss projects to ensure that we are providing the best furniture for your application, whilst also considering the impacts of manufacturing, delivery, durability and recycling.

We have now implemented a Country of Origin attribute for most items on our website.  You can Sort By Country of Origin and also identify Country of Origin in each products Specification tab.

Where Country of Origin is not specified, we are working on this.  Where Country of Origin is Outside of EU, in most cases the item will be imported from Asia.  Outside of EU items may offer many other great attributes, however they have been shipped by container for many thousands of miles, which is to be avoided as far as possible.

We have always and will continue to promote the best product from the closest resource.  In most cases we can fulfil great orders with entirely UK made products.  However if the best item for your project is only made in the Far East, then we will work with that.

Kirkhouse is very different in this regard to many other online retailers who simply offer unsustainable, warehoused, imported furniture.
